Eco House Solutions Gain MCS Certification - Why Is This So Important When Choosing Your Supplier?

Ecohouse Solutions have successfully achieved their MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) Installer certification- excellent news for our customers and us.

Did you know that installing MCS approved products are a necessary part of applying for RHI incentives on your renewable energy heating and hot water solution? Furthermore, not all suppliers are certified, meaning you can be assured of a higher quality standard and set of values.

What exactly is MCS?
MCS is about standards, creating, maintaining and certifying. About ensuring quality and certifying low carbon products and installations used to produce electricity and heat from renewable sources.
"The certification schemes we operate are a mark of quality. Since 2018 ...we’ve redoubled our commitment to effective compliance and enforcement. We want to make the schemes we operate stronger, fairer and simpler so the quality of the installers and product manufacturers we work with really shines through. We also want to embrace emerging technologies...so that we can offer assurance across the full spectrum of renewable energy products and services"

Why is this important to you, the customer?
MCS is a requirement of the Domestic RHI scheme. Heating systems must be certified by MCS. MCS is supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS). MCS certifies both products and installation companies to help ensure that Microgeneration products are installed to a high standard.

You will need to provide an MCS certificate number as part of your application, to confirm that your heating system has been installed in line with the MCS installation standards. Applicants who do not have an MCS certificate will not be eligible for the Domestic RHI
